Thank you for your interest in taking part in the 2025 survey of Rookeries in Shropshire.
In April nest numbers will have stabilised so please record your nest counts. When counting you should change your viewpoint a few times and count repeatedly until you reach the most accurate maximum.
The project’s aim is to have every occupied rookery recorded and coloured Green (or Black = confirmed dead) by the end of April.
On the map below are 90 White Pins, unrecorded sites which need examination this year. One visit per site – is it active? and if so how many nests? does it have, or is it considered Dead?

Click on the Coloured Pins to access site details.
START by selecting an option below for
Reporting an Existing Site, click on its marker on the map and follow the instructions.
Reporting a Dead Site, click on its marker on the map then enter Dead in “Current Status” field and follow the instructions.
Reporting a New Site, click on its position on the map, indicated by the point of the Purple Balloon.
You may do this more than once to refine its position then follow the instructions.
Either way, please complete all the details in the form and submit it.
